Summer 2026 Playoffs Begin

And with that, the Summer 2026 regular season has officially concluded. Fourteen games of questionable sub calls, increasingly sore hips, muffins up the middle, and plentiful buckets of Banquets have brought us here: playoff hockey.

At the top of the table sit two very familiar names.

WorldVest claims the No. 1 seed, with Dire Wolves finishing No. 2. The reigning champions and last season’s runner-up have once again found themselves atop the league, again.

Both have earned first-round byes and the luxury of spending Tuesday night resting their legs, scouting the competition, and presumably explaining to their wives that they still need to go to the rink even though they aren’t actually playing.

The real drama came further down the standings.

Revelry punched its ticket to the postseason in spectacular fashion, entering the final game of the regular season against Kingspan needing a win and proceeding to leave very little ambiguity about the matter. Revelry grabs the sixth and final playoff spot, extending its season (perhaps to captain Sean’s dismay) and sending Kingspan directly to the poolside bar for the remainder of the summer.

Burns Alley, meanwhile, somehow “coalesced” its way into the No. 5 seed. How proud we are of all of them.

Holding down the middle of the bracket are Shade-FOG at No. 4 and Holy City at No. 3. Will Miller’s gritty squad grind their way to the semi-finals? Will Holy City be able to find a goalie? I guess we shall all sit on the edge of our seats in anticipation of what’s to come.

The result is what many around the league are calling one of the most balanced playoff fields in recent memory, Baird notwithstanding. There are legitimate arguments for nearly every team having a path to the championship, which should make for an exciting and unpredictable postseason.

We would also like to extend our sincerest condolences and well wishes to the Kingspan and Baird hockey clubs, whose Summer 2026 campaigns have officially reached their conclusion. Both fought valiantly. Both competed honorably. Both will now enjoy the greatest postseason advantage of all: zero chance of pulling a groin Thursday night.

The Summer 2026 playoffs begin Tuesday, August 11, with two first-round matchups:

No. 6 Revelry vs. No. 3 Holy City
No. 5 Burns Alley vs. No. 4 Shade-FOG

WorldVest and the Dire Wolves will await the survivors in the semifinals on Thursday, August 13.

Six teams remain.

One will be crowned Summer 2026 champion.

Five will eventually join Kingspan and Baird at the bar.

Win or lose, we booze.
